Disabled employees work in the halls of a prosthetics manufacturing and repair center in La Paz. They know perfectly the advantages and disadvantages of each material used and the need to adapt every imported or locally made product to the conditions in La Paz. At this center, people with disabilities from other parts of the country can also come and stay for a few days while measurements are taken and necessary pieces and prosthetics are made. Unlike private commercial initiatives, this center, supported by an NGO, aims to manufacture and repair prosthetics for economically disadvantaged individuals who cannot afford imported parts.
