Every year the 514 anniversary of the arrival of the Spanish to the "American" continent is remembered. Beyond the expressions of protest, the revaluation of the "indigenous", "autochthonous" and "original" serves as a springboard for self-affirmation, for exorcism from a past of slavery and syncretism closely linked to survival. They are a kind of impulse to see if, despite all these centuries, something new can be built connected with perceptions and probable "ancestral" wisdom.
